MJ GREENMOUNTAIN Live in Concert – Healing Songs and Chants
After a 10 year hiatus, MJ Greenmountain returns to the Stage to share his songs and chants, creating an atmosphere of unification, peace, and harmony in a rare, intimate acoustic setting, joined by Special Guests TBA.

Weaving traditional music from Africa, India, and the Caribbean, with American folk flavors, MJ’s vocals and percussive style of music is currently informed and inspired by many years of dedicated Healing Practice, and close relations with Indigenous Healers. Widely known for co-founding the pioneering world fusion band HAMSA LILA, MJ had his own solo album release in 2009, and has played with renowned artists such as Michael Franti, Mickey Hart, String Cheese Incident, Beats Antique, Dirtwire, Ozomatli, Babatunde Olatunji and Ernest Ranglin.

MJ re-emerges to offer his musical medicine in the midst of challenging times. Many songs will be appropriate – and encouraged – for audience participation. This is an ALL AGES SHOW, in an alcohol & substance-free space. CHILDREN UNDER 12 IN FREE

MJ Greenmountain returns to the Stage after a long hiatus, focused on raising his young children. Grounded in traditional music influences, MJ’s music inspires people with his unique style, voice and repertoire. Widely known as a central founding member of the band HAMSA LILA, MJ was the lead male vocalist / percussionist for the group. HAMSA LILA hit the top of the world music charts in 2005 in the US and Canada, and enjoyed nearly 20 years of success as a pioneering sound in the festival scene. They were a major West Coast Headlining band for the “transformational festivals” and a Burning Man favorite (for live music) from 2001 through 2015. MJ released a highly acclaimed solo album in 2009, and an instrumental side project called MUSIC FOR TEA in 2012, bridging his two primary career paths. He has played and recorded with renowned artists such as Michael Franti, Mickey Hart (Grateful Dead), String Cheese Incident, Beats Antique, Dirtwire, Ozomatli, Babatunde Olatunji, Yungchen Lhamo, Yossi Fine, Ernest Ranglin, Shimshai, and Jah Levi. He lives in Nevada City with his wife and two young children.
