Event Details

Come share in the plant medicine community as we connect the spirit of the sacred cacao.

Theobroma Cacao (translated=Food of the Gods) contains many beneficial health properties and has been used as a food for millennia and ceremonially by Mesoamerican cultures. It was once comparable to gold, used in trade and ceremonially to document life-milestones.

When we drink cacao prepared for ceremony using high quality raw cacao beans, the mood enhancing neurochemicals in cacao activate. There is increased blood flow and oxygen to the brain, heart and skin, the whole body is nourished, awareness and focus is heightened and sensations are intensified. This promotes deep relaxation and often space for emotional release. You may feel a deep sense of joy and peace, a connection to the oneness as well as insights of limiting behaviors, thoughts and feelings that are able to be understood and released within the safe space of ceremony.

Cacao contains the neurotransmitters serotonin, tryptophan and dopamine which assist with feelings of well-being, combat stress and anxiety and contribute to motivation. It also contains the neuromodulator phenylethylamine (PEA) which helps the body create feelings of excitement and euphoria. Cacao is one if the highest sources of anti-oxidants and magnesium, and extremely beneficial to heart health and lowering blood pressure.

When we combine cacao with powerful breathwork, chanting and sound healing, we can achieve a sense of calm in the mind, deep connection through an open heart, and witness energy flowing through and around the body.

Please wear comfortable clothing, for sitting on a cushion and/or yoga mat and floor. A blindfold can also be beneficial.

If you are experiencing serious health challenges or are on high levels of anti-depressants, please message us in advance to discuss if this type of journey is safe for you.

One Light Tribe: Isabel and Ariisa@onelighttribe.com

One Light Tribe is a healing collective based in the San Francisco Bay Area, California. Our work is based on the use of ceremonial plant medicines for personal and collective healing. We hold regular cacao ceremonies and retreats locally, and also organize groups to travel to South America and the Amazon rainforest to work with medicinal plants under the guidance of shamans and medicine people.
Isabel is the founder and organizer of One Light Tribe. She began her own work with sacred plant medicines in early 2007 in the Peruvian Amazon, and has since studied the plants and done dietas under the guidance of several shamans and teachers in Peru, Colombia, Ecuador and Brazil. Her current maestros are Don Luis and Don Juan Andi of Napusamai in Ecuador, where she brings groups 2x per year. After intensive personal work over some years, she heeded the call to introduce others to this path. She has been on the spiritual healing path for the past 20+ years, which began with yoga, and she holds teacher certificates in both Iyengar and Kundalini styles. She is a graduate of the Yoga of the Voice program with Silvia Nakkach. She has also trained in Polarity therapy, massage, reiki, sound healing, shamanic healing and Ayurveda.
With deep gratitude to her teachers and lineages who carry the sacred medicines, she believes strongly that the knowledge of the plants needs to be shared and experienced by those called, so we can ‘wake-up’ and collectively heal the planet one by one. She is a channel or guide who assists and witnesses the healing each person has the capacity to do. She believes everyone and everything on our path is our teacher and that ultimately we find we each have our own guru within.
Isabel is assisted by her partner Ari, as well as special guests and talented musicians in our tribe. Together we hold safe space for healing, unraveling and letting go.
